What is Remuda?

When searching for an appropriate name for our business, we discovered the word Remuda in a decades-old western book about cowboys. It turns out that Remuda is an old Spanish slang word that refers to the herd of extra workhorses. Remuda seemed to fit with the ethos of having extra cars in your stable to choose from. So naturally, Remuda Motoring was born.

In the Old West, the wrangler was in charge of the remuda each day. The term remuda was used to refer to the extra horses, ready to be run.

About Remuda Motoring

At Remuda Motoring, we come from all walks of life and from all over the world. But, the one thing that we all have in common is our immense passion for classic cars. Between all of us we have built, driven and cherished hundreds of vehicles.

We always wanted to start a business that encompassed our shared passion for revitalizing classic cars, trucks and 4x4s. Our journey together in business started with the restoration of Remuda #001, a 1970 Ford Bronco.

Our workshop is based in Austin, TX near Lake Travis, just outside of Lakeway. While we are most easily accessible to those in Central Texas, we serve clients all over the country (and some overseas!). We can facilitate shipping to and from our facility using our preferred transportation company.

In addition to bespoke custom builds and full vehicle restorations, we offer maintenance and repair services on most vintage, classic and soon-to-be classic vehicles of all makes. Feel free to reach out and tell us about your Remuda!
